Scott is the lead singer and songwriter for popular Pittsburgh-based rock band The Clarks. The band members met as students at Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1986, and are often known for early hits "Penny on the Floor" and "Cigarette" and their national television gig on the Late Show with David Letterman.
